UK-India: Building Partnerships in Information Technology
British Council is organising a one day seminar to showcase opportunities for academic and research partnerships in Information Technology in India . The seminar will also look at models of developing partnerships in higher education and with the corporate IT sector in India.
The seminar is a follow-up to the successful outcome of an IT Mission of 10 UK academicians to South India in June 2007. A key outcome of the event was the interest shown by both sides on the need to deepen the relationship in IT research and education to develop long term sustainable partnerships that leverage the opportunities provided by India 's rapid progress in IT.
The seminar will take place on Monday 18 February 2008 at the British Council, 10 Spring Gardens , London . To attend the seminar, please complete the online application form by Thursday,
31 January 2008.

As the focus of the seminar is on IT, the ideal profile of participants would be researchers and academicians in IT who are in a position to influence the partnership agenda within their institution. To ensure an even balance of institution representation, in the first instance, places will be limited to one delegate per institution on first-come-first-served basis.
If you are keen for more than one delegate to attend, please send details (name, designation, reasons for attending) of the second delegate to ramesh.veluchamy@in.britishcouncil.org to include on the waiting list.
