Widening Access and Social Inclusion in Higher Education: A two-day conference in Kolkata, 26-28 March 2007
Keynote speeches by State Minister for Education and Chairman, UGC. Attended by Economic Adviser to PM, and officials from AICTE, UGC and local government.
Education, Training and Skills for the Knowledge Economy: A one-day event in Delhi
A very well attended seminar by Chris Humphries, City and Guilds, followed by a panel session with Ministry of HRD, and senior educationalists. Presentations from all workshops are available at htttp://www.ukieri.org
   
Upcoming events

Opportunity to meet Indian HE providers seeking foreign partners

In the forthcoming Federation of Indian Chambers and Commerce and Industry (FICCI) HE Summit on 2 and 3 November, the UK has agreed to be a country partner. Under the UK-India Education and Research Initiative (UKIERI), a number of lead UK and Indian education professionals and institutes will be supported through:

  • A free 'contacts system' on the UKIERI stand within the UK pavilion
  • Circulation of names and contacts of UK and Indian institutions to all participants
  • Subsidised entry as a delegate
  • Free attendance at the one day UKIERI seminar: Developing UK-India Collaborative Degree Partnerships
