We hope you find it equally useful, and look forward to your continued participation with UKIERI.

2007 has been a very successful year for UKIERI with a tremendous amount of activity taking place between our two countries. Besides all the events highlighted in this issue, we have evaluated around 1,000 applications for collaborative research and teaching programmes, PhD scholarships, research fellowships and schools programmes. We also launched the first joint call for bids for research cooperation between UKIERI and the Indian Department of Science and Technology. We will be announcing the results of all these competitive bids in January.
We wish all our friends and supporters a productive and happy 2008!
