Innovation Partnerships
Innovation Partnerships strand is focusing to enhance the innovation capacity between universities and higher education institutions in India and the UK by promoting partnerships. This strand also aims to encourage and support the development of the Innovation Universities and emerging Innovation Centres of Excellence which are being currently established in universities/institutions in India to meet the needs of Indian Higher Education system.
The strand is also strengthening engagement and encouraging potential collaborations between the Indian and UK Higher Education systems by promoting and assisting registered PhD students and post-docs in India and the UK to collaborate through Thematic Partnerships. These partnerships are jointly funded and supported by University Grants Commission and Department of Science & Technology from India currently.
The strand has also provided opportunity to promote and initiate multilateral dialogue to establish trilateral partnerships for collaborative research and development activities between the US, UK and India. The strand will also aim to strengthen two-way mobility of UK and Indian doctoral scholars to enhance knowledge sharing between the two countries by facilitating the development of reciprocal institutional links between the ESRC Doctoral Training Centers and Centres of research excellence in India.
The strand is working with key Indian and UK stakeholders in Higher Education sector across both countries like University Grants Commission (UGC), Department of Science and Technology (DST), All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Universities UK (UUK), National Endowment for Science, Technology and Arts (NESTA), Research Councils etc to promote the strand activities and contribute towards the strand delivery.
