Skills Travel Grant

This sub strand aims to facilitate stakeholders from technical and vocational education and training providers, SMEs, industry associations, sector skills councils, awarding organisations, State and Central Government and agencies to enable the expansion and industry driven training activities in India and the UK. Under this strand activity Indian and the UK TVET institutions/organisations are encouraged to find partners and work together in areas of importance for both the countries. Preference will be given to proposals in 21 high growth sectors identified by National Skills Development Corporation (http://www.nsdcindia.org/index.aspx)

Provision of travel grant for scoping visits and partner finding under the Skills Development strand has been developed with an understanding that skills development sector is in an evolving stage and in India 90% of the providers are operating in an informal sector. Travel grant visits will enable UK and Indian TVET providers to do the due diligence and find suitable partner institute before developing sustainable models of collaboration.

Objective

  • Purpose of the travel grants is to facilitate organisations/institutions in scoping visit and finding suitable partners in each others country
  • Joint submission of a full grant application under the strand “Institutional Capacity building” or Sector Skills Collaboration”.
