57 UK- India education partnerships announced under UKIERI
At an event hosted by British Council on 7 April 2017 in New Delhi. Rt. Hon’ble Greg Clark - Secretary of State for UK’s Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy and Shri Kewal Kumar Sharma, Secretary Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development, India announced 57 new UK India partnerships worth over £ 1.6 million. Ranging from social sciences, engineering, human health, climate research and data science these partnerships have been announced under UKIERI between institutions in the UK and India. These partnerships have been co-funded by the UK and Ministry of Human Resource Development through University Grants Commission and Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. The awards were given out by Dr Arabinda Mitra, Adviser & Head, International Cooperation (Bilateral), Department of Science and Technology and Prof Anil Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, All India Council for Technical Education. The event was also attended by the British High Commissioner - Sir Dominic Anthony Gerard Asquith KCMG, Rt. Hon’ble Usha Kumari Parashar, Deputy Chair of the British Council along with Alan Gemmell, Director British Council India.
