UKIERI lays foundation for an Inspiring 2008 with announcement of
81 awards

During the India-UK annual summit held in Delhi recently, the UK Prime Minister Mr. Gordon Brown and India Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh recognised that the UK-India Education & Research Initiative (UKIERI), launched in April 2006, has been playing an important role in fostering contacts in higher education.

UKIERI also announced 81 awards for the second year of the initiative.

This includes a total of 13 DST-UKIERI Science & Technology awards, 24 Collaborative research Awards, 9 Collaborative Programme Delivery Awards, 13 School cluster partnerships, 15 research fellowships and 9 PhD Scholarships.
